Input Service Distributor is a type of registration taken for distribution of Input tax credit to the respective registrations under the same pan. Suppose M/s XYZ Ltd has a GST registration in 10 states and has its head office in Delhi. It also has its ISD registration in Delhi so that input of goods/services received in Delhi head office can be transferred to the state /registration where it pertains. For example, Its Rajasthan unit has its bank account in Delhi where the head office is located, and has to take input tax credit of bank guarantee/charges, the same would be availed in DL ISD registration and the same shall be distributed to Rajasthan GST registration
