costing papers wasn't tough but lenghthy. it may be bcoz' of this reason that we expected that marking would be a bit loose. but thinking of the attempt made and got scored, it was a bit disappointing as to wat went wrong with the counter-balancing act of institute's paper length with marking.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, immediately after the exams, I had posted a thread inviting the paper setter to take this exam under hall conditions and finish it in 3 hours. 8 Problems and 6 theories in 3 hours in costing cannot be solved even by the almighty. For example, its hilarious to see that 40 randon numbers given for the simulation problem -- unheard off in any exam. Today Rahul has passed and I congratulate hom on his success but in his own admission, he had also flunked many times. What was his reaction then? Whatever may be the reasons, I tend to believe that there is something grossly wrong in the evaluation and tabulation of the results -- otherwise such sort of disastrous result is not possible -- that too in group 2 where term after term the passing percentage is coming down. Its highly suspicious.

Vivekji, I was expecting exemption in MICS as I wrote the paper very all and confidently. Landed up with just 43. Not being able to digest it. Is there any option of invoking RTI to get to see the paper. I can challenge and vouch that 43 cannot be my score. Waiting for response.

Hi Arka Thanks gor congratulating me. Yes i flunked many times, but believe me every time starting from scrarch each and every thing was very difficult task for me.
Coming to Cost Management. Paper was very lengthy and cannot be completed in 3 hours. But Tell me one thing many are saying that there is slashing of 20 Marks. That means my marks would be 76 which is next to impossible. You can say it in MICS.

Thanx Rahul. This was my third attempt and this time I really prepared well. All the 20 questions in MICS were pretty striaghtforward and I reproduced the same language written inthe study material. The result -- only 43. Yes, with each attempt, you temd to grow a bit wiser and experienced and this time I was too sure of getting exepmtion. Last time, in June ( i did not sit for the June attempt) many strudents got expemtion in MICS including yourself. Probably, this time for this they have bolted the subject this time. I am pretty sure of invoking RTI to get the answer scriptts. Only that shall prove whether I am right or wrong. I have a very close associate who is an examiner of the Insittute of one of the papers of Gr 2 and in front of me, he couriered the answer scriptt and the tabulated mark sheets to the Institute thru Jet Airways on Saturday, 9th Jan 2010. I was aghast to see the institute notifying that results shall be declared on the 17th. How come, the isntitute managed to tabulate thousands of marks in just 6 days. This examiner aslo told me that after submission of papers it normally takes about 15 days for the results to come out. This has led to be to believe that all is not well with our famous ( in) Institute. This President is making a mockery of the students and in long term it would be difficult to get students to pursue CA profession in India when lots of other lucrative career options are available. Not all students pursuing the course are brilliant or capable rank holders. All shoud get equal oppurtunities and for that I feel that an unified students forum to address such issues and bring about greater transparency inthe examination process is required. Solicit opinions. Its fruitless to go for revaluations as it tantamounts to nothing as ony totalling os done. The Institute for some strange reasons does not have any provisions for revaluation. Things are changing, no choices are given, then I feel revaluation should also be included now.

Hi Arka First of all if u r thinking of RTI then let me tell u it will take another year to even put your case. Delhi HC had given a judgement in favour of Vishikita Vikas Soni a mumbai Girl for Nov 2008 attempt. She didn't get her copies yet. One more thing if your regn .No. comes in the eyes of institute, they will make sure that u never pass in the exams. Thats y be patient.
One thing i would like to share that My First PE2 attempt was in May2004 and till nov 2009 i had been iving CA exams in every 6 months and facing results in every 3 months. That too with 90% times negative. I even flunked at 199 in Nov 2008 but still i feet that it was my mistake. Dear If i m pass i can be sure that the ICAI has not done any slashing and result % is very high. Take Care and all the best.
One more thing my emailid is rsri97 @ gmail.com and my Contact No. is 09818627551. Feel free to contact me at any time.
