Is maths important?

Hey everyone! I wanted to know that is maths VERY IMORTANT for CA?? I mean, i'm an avg scorer in maths, though i'm good at accounts and other commerce subjects. So will just being average at maths prove to be a major drawback, or can i still have a fair chance if my basics r strong??

only basic maths matters....no need to be master in maths for passing CA exams.

You need to know simple maths and some times framing small equations and little bit of arithmetic

like For 75 marks you got 33

then for 50 marks you score should be??

This you can learn while going through the subjects

next regarding equations you will use it in some parts of costing and accounts

Thats it. No need to work hard for maths.

Basic maths is enough'

i think math isn't so imp for CAs

I think maths is very imp coz it deals with numbers...

and CA is  concerned all about numbers... so one should be perfect at basics and be open to learn new concepts as and when he gets chance..

math definitely matters

the kind of math required is u sud be able to calculate n evaluate figures in ur mind at the earliest bcoz any problem start with figures. logics n concepts r then applied based on ur initial evaluation if it was wrong then subsequent result would also be wrong.

but it is not like expert of math in diffrent concepts like inetgral, diffrential or various theorems instead arithmetical evaluation is concerned.

Never lose hope math is not big point n kehte hi na "jab okhli mein sar de diye to mooslo se kya darna"

all the best

Ofcoarse, its just that u need to ADDITION, SUBSTRACTION, DIVISION AND MULTIPLICATION....

Rest all is either management, accounting, bla bla bla bla... yaar bahut hathoda hai CA me.... And yes, INFO TECH at pcc/ipcc level.., uske liye to koi bhi knowledge ho, kam padhta hai.... lolz....

U need not to be a scientist. Just basic arithmetics and thats enuf.

Simple maths is enough.

not much imp to clear CA..........

CPT: You will need to know Maths to clear CPT, but only that much as is given in the Study Material for CPT.

IPCC/PCC: 1) Some basic concepts like Equation, etc in costing.

2) Basic Interpolation, etc for Capital Budgeting in FM

3) Std: 8-9-10 Maths for flowchart in IT & SM.

But you will be able to learn it as it is very easy. You can also refer the Reference books and Study material whenever you get confused. Also, if you are going to coaching classes, you can ask your teacher there.

BEST OF LUCK !!!

You don't need to be good at maths for CA.

Those who have a good understanding of ratio/proportions and the unitary method can sometimes better appreciate the process behind some Mafa "formulas". But you can always simply learn them too.

YOU SHOULD BE A GOOD USER OF CALCULATOR BECAUSE EXAMS ARE LENGTHY.

basic maths + fast user of calculater
