IS A PCS OR A PCA CONSIDERED AS A GAZETTED OFFICER?

HI FRIENDS...

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHETHER A PRACTISING COMPANY SECRETARY OR A PRACTISING CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT CONSIDERED AS GAZETTED OFFICER..?

No, dear they are not Gazetted Officer, they are a Professionals. I know you are confused because of the certifying authority. They certify documents in their professional capacity.

No not at all.

Only the value is like that of a gazzetted officer but you can't call a ca or cs a gazzetted officer.

And as per my knowledge they all are government officers who can only be called gazztted officers.

thanks for the info.

actually the main problem was regarding certification only. Can u please tell me if a certain doc. need to be attested by a gazetted officer , can a PCS or PCA attest it in his/her professional capacity?

Dear Ritika,

I already presumed that the problem would be for certification. I would like to inform you that in the document if there is cleary written that it is required to be certify by the Gazetted Officer. Then certification of Gazetted Officer would be allowed.

However, if there is writtend that Gazetted Officer / PCS / PCA / CWA then any one can certify.

All officers belongs to Central/State Govt. and whose name gets published in the Gazette of india are termed as "Gazetted Officers". If authority expressly permits the authentiction of a Independent professionals only then one can certify otherwise not. It is exclusive power of "Gazetted Officers". Regards,
