Hi freinds, I am doing IPCC self -study. Can anybody comments on this...as how to study and how to proceed etc. I will be giving exams in NOV2011

You follow standard Books preferably latest editions .Devote more time for Accounts,Costing &FM,iNCOME TAX
Other three theory subjects can be planned at your convenience

even am doing ipcc.. self study... i thnk its better to go for self study if u really believe dat u can do it by urslf.. institute material, suggested answer and one standard text book is enough... keep in touch with recent amendments, notifications and circulars.. good luck

ya.. correct..
well am giving only first group so i cant tell much abt 2nd group..
but in 1st grp, for law, ethics, communication, taxation study material is more thn enough... for accounts u can go for r.l. gupta... for costing and f.m. go for gurukripa's material.... together with study material...

institutes stdy material shud b used as bible and shud b done properly.and with that u shud use sm good reference bks as study material cannot b understood without the reference bks as i percieve them to b tough.and u cn buy the bks of good coaching classes from mkt and practise as much as u cn as u hv ample of tym to prepare and do theory subjects by writting again and again and there is no need to sit all day long to study take small breaks in between as there has to b quality in studying and nt quantity and jst thnk of urself as ca and then c that will act as a driving force for u to study. study smart as well as hard.
bt pls follow it at ur own risk b'coz i hv gvn pcc in nov 2010 and waiting for rslts.

- IGNORE all free suggestions given by people around you.
- DO NOT prepare by merely speculating. The portion you have skipped could be asked . Who knows ?
- Don't prepare for the exams for the heck of it. Understand its content and re-collect it everyday. Study cuz you love the subject and not for the sake of clearing the exams. Be Passionate about studying & Enjoy it =)
- Pay adequate interest to crucial topics. Say Service Tax for example , it could be foolishness to spend days memorizing Salary Income over Service Tax , going by the volume of content.
- Pick up a good book and brush through its content. Chew & digest all the information which play a significant role. Refer to the other authors as well to see how the respective author appraoch the subject.
- Least of all, do not go by the number of hours of study. What you could grasp in an hour could be made possible by another in half the time. Analyse your memory and go by what your brain demends in order to work efficiently.
