Hei I would suggest you to solve maximum problems of different variety. Just dont see them. Solve them actually. Refer Practice Manuals, RTPs. Also study the theory well. Generally people pay less attention to the theory part. N finally if you want to gain confidence write mock exam for Costing And FM Paper!

I have two doubts pertaining to ipcc exams -
1.In Law and Income Tax, while quoting relevant case laws, do we need to precisely name all the parties involved in that historic decision or can we just focus on writing the crux of that judgement?
for eg . in munish bhandari's handbook on law, he has just mentioned the name of the case and written like : A and B wer ....... . b filed a suit , etc etc
2.appears very childish , but i feel it is a very touchy point: can we use the margin while drawing up various ledger accounts? can we mention figures in representative place values(in 1000's or in lakhs) during accounting , costing or fm papers?

Hei Satish, I would suggest refer Munish Bhandari for Law and focus more on practical questions because they help in making your concepts more clear. Also try memorising the sections.Writing sections in the paper makes a good impression!

@ Cost Accounting Fan:
1. As regards writing the names of the parties to the case, its not important in Law, but in Income Tax, writing the parties name would fetch you better marks.
2. N regards using the margin, yes you can do so, because no where are we restricted to use the margin i.e. there is no such rule mentioned anywhere
3. And yes you can mention the figures in representative place values

Hi Varun, for IT refer your classes notes and for SM Paridhi's notes. The subject is dry but dont leave it mid way cz majority people flunk in this paper. And as regards SAs, you just need to understand the concepts, mostly no direct questions are asked!

Hi Ankush,
If preference dividend payable is not appearing in the balance sheet the following entries would be passed -
Reconstruction Account Dr - 50,000
To Bank Account - 50,000
(Being Preference dividend paid)
