Hello friend my personal suggestion for you will be that pls go for both groups, it has many advantages like
1.) Suppose if x writes both the groups and he scores 48% in one group and 53% in second, so as per the rules the second group total can be added with first in order to calculate aggregate marks (50%)
2.) Rank calculations are done only when both the groups are attempted at the same time
3.) Time would be saved, etc.,
I may not have answered for your question but hope my suggestion will be somewhere helpful to you,
Thanks,
Dheeraj.
