Ipcc attempt query

If we get registered for IPCC in say Feb'12 and wish to appear for group 1 in May'13 , will Nov'12 be counted as the first attempt or May'13 as the first attempt ? Are attempts counted from the date of registration or on filling the application form for the particular examination ?

Dear Member,

As per my opinion Attempt has been counted as & when you appear in Exams and not the attempt which you not given in exam.

That was what I thought, but there are some rumours doing rounds that attempts are counted from the date of registration itself!

In my opinion, attempts are counted when the exam form was filled up and sent, irrespect of the student gives the attempt or not, it will be treated as one attempt as the form was filled up.
