In GST invoice numbers will be given from 1 or  it will be contiuned in regular series of Vat invoice?

Whether you want to Start it from 1 or Continue with the Old Invoice Series.

There is no compulsion. Either You Can Start it from 1 Or Continue with the on-going Series.

I think its mandatory in new law (in GST)..
