Investment of capital gains

Dear Sir,

please clarify that under Section 54EC, the duration of 180 days to invest in Govt infrastructure bonds, starts from the day the 'token' money is received or from the day the actual registration of sale of property is done, which may be much later than the reciept of the 'token' amount.
