If you can get an analyst job in Finance and start doing CFA, then you may have considerable oppotunities in Investment Banking after clearing CFA level 3. The most important thing is to do it from CFA US and not from ICFAI.
If you can get an MBA then you can get a better start in Finance or Investment Banking.
Target the IIMs, XLRI, FMS, SP Jain and IIFT.

Yes, you can choose investment banking as your career after CA, but doing so you need to study a lot about stock markets, market trends, tricks of investing, economics and like. CAs have a good base due to FM and Accounts, but these courses would not help them completely as they generally teach more about valuation and not much about investing. So, venturing in it without any experience or knowledge can be risky and one might end up losing some money. If you are looking for different career options, then trying your luck in startupjobs would be beneficial.

There are lots of good courses you can take online to help you get into investment banking. You can even earn a certificate in financial modelling from the CFI on their website. I think it's good to take some courses and practice financial modeling since you will be doing lots of that on the job! A lot of people think they want to get into invesment banking becuaes it's s*xy but they realize they don't like spending a million hours in Excel haha. Good luck!

Invesment Banking is a broad domain in itself, which would depend on your work ex. And your profile, whether are looking forward to work in the IB domain in a Brokerage firm/KPO or for a bank or in an IT company. You can do FLIP's certification in Investment Banking Operations, if you are looking forward to work in a KPO or an IT company. This is the only US oriented certification course, provided in India and it's in collaboration with NSE's NCFM. They also have a course on Investment Banking, if you are looking forward to make your career in an Indian bank. I've completed my CA and currently I'm doing their Equity Research program, which I feel is more relavant to CAs. You can also check that out.

Investment banks are financial institutions that operate several different divisions, which we have outlined below. Each division serves a unique function, but all the various groups work together to provide "full service" to their clients. Professionals who work in investment banking spend a lot of time doing financial modeling and creating presentations for clients.
