I am filing GST return by late.
I have only sgst liability to be paid.
while filling payment challan at interest colomn, whatever amount entered in sgst interest, the same amount automatically appearing in cgst. how can I avoide interest for csgt. thanks in advance.

yes you are correct , interest can be paid under Both head equally . if suppose interest is payable 500, can be under CGST 250/- ,.& SGST 250/- , even the tax payable was only under SGST head.
But pls put a mail to GSTN before paying the same

Please calculate interest on gross GST liability without taking ITC as per section 50
after that interest amount same for CGST & SGST
