05 September 2024There are some employees with Inoperative PAN status as on 31.05.2024 for which a demand notice has been received by the Company for short deduction of TDS. What if these inoperative PAN's are later linked with aadhar and are in Operative stage post 31.05.2024. Can now a correction return be filed and demand will be gone? Or do we still have to pay the short deduction TDS?

As per the current status, you need to pay the demand. No further clarification from ITD.
