Basing on my experience and my friends suggestions, i can say that the best book for CA Final IDT is Bangar & Bangar. The reason as u specifically asked is, it is a completely self-study book. And it contains all the previous examination questions placed at relevant context , to make our life easier.
And regarding last minute preparation, go for "compiler of bangar" which contains the crisp of the entire text of the main book. E.g. Service Tax concept has been explained in 2-3 pages to the point.
And coming to Vineeth sodhani (Taxman publications), its good but its not good for last minute revision as there is no summary.
And one main thing i wanna state that , in IDT, howmuch ever u study from reference books, all the questions are mostly based out of Practice manual. so make sure u finish off practice manual atleast twice before u enter the exam hall....
Hope this reply meets ur requirement.
