Hi Guys, need one suggestion on income tax demand.
1. I got e-proceeding notification for adjustment in my AY 2020-21 return and since the adjustment was completely wrong and accordingly I replied within 2 days of notice and the e-proceeding was closed mentioning that either i didn't provide the response or the response was not satisfactory.
2. After 20 days I received demand notice for the same and I disagreed to that demand over the portal and also raised grievance on portal for which I received a resolution that since I didn't respond within 30 days from the issue of notice hence the adjustment was made which was obviously incorrect. I re-opened that greivance and waiting again for their reply.
I need opinion that from here what options I have and how to proceed further.

Hi Karthik, In my case I have noted one apparent mistake in my last year return and the tax demand raised by department was correct. However, time to revise AY 2020-21 return has already been passed and now the only option I have is to request for rectification in return data (pls note that you can raise this request only for clerical/arthimatical mistakes and similar type of errors where the total income and deduction shouldn't be changed). You can raise this request under "service" category over portal.
