As per New Law, company incorporation has 5 steps (if DINs already acquired). At 1st step, name approval applied for in INC-1 which also asked detail of proposed directors.
Form INC-1 asked for detail of proposed/promoter/first director, but the same has limitation for 15 and beyond 15, the applicant/user has to attach detail as attachement. That means, the purpose of the form is just to collect about detail which can be limited or changed later (personal opinion) because DIR-12 is specifically provided to provide detail of (first obviously) directors for new company.
Proposed director or First Director means the person named as Director in the Article of Association.
At 2nd step, INC-7 to filed with certain attachments which includes MOA and AOA also. So, what you has to do, keep the proper detail in AOA (in prescribed format as per new Law) and at 3rd step, file of DIR-12 for all the Promoter Directors.
Hope this will help.
