mr. x want to e-file income tax return for asstt yr. 2011-2012.
no bank account was opened by mr. x in his life and he is also not interested to open any bank account.
How we can file income tax return without bank detail in return..

Bank details are required only for refund cases
if the assessee does not have a refund pending in his return
OR if he does not wish to recieve his refund THEN he is NOT required to mention bank account

w.e.f AY 2011-12
Assessee must be given Bank a/c details in Income Tax Return whether Asseesse have Refund or not
i.e. mandatory to give A/c details..!!!
otherwise return is not accepted by computer while generating XML File for return filing ..!!!
But practically they (Assesses )give any no (Ex: 1,2,3...etc !!!) for non refund cases in a/c details
and return is accepted by Department when filing is done through electronically
u get it ???

phani is correct as without providing the bank account you cannot file a return, so you need to provide the bank account details.

no , return can be accepted without bank details i personally filed 2011-12 returns without giving bank details using genius software..........

Yes you can filr the return of income wqithout bank details. Bank details are required only when any Taxis deducted and you have to claim it...
