10 July 2011My Govt. Bank has given me TDS certificate which indicates that about Rs 32000.00 was paid as interest to me in FY 2010-11 and accordingly they had deducted TDS of approx. Rs 3200.00 but from Form no. 26AS till date it is indicated that only Rs 158 is deposited by Bank upto Aug.10.What to do now as last date is 31st July,11.I have also seen that no. of mistakes has been done in calculating interest due to their software problem & they are not able to give me revised TDS certificate.

ask the bank in writing to provide correct form 16A, with a copy to their head office customer care.

give a copy to banking ombudsman of your city.
if the same is not heard with your ease, you have to seek relief through "consumer protection court" in your city, banking services are covered under consumer protection act.

in ur case bank have filed tds return up to aug 10- contact with the bank and ensure that they filed tds return for the last quarter - if any mistake has happened tell , to revise the tds return -

it is the duty of the bank to pay TDS to the government if it has deducted the amount from your income.

This is happening ............wil continue to happen.........!!!!!
now to solve your problem :-
1. you should ask for the acknowledgement no. of the 26Q they had filed.(which they must have mentioned in the Form 16A provided to you)
If they give the no. of acknowledgement ..........basing on that + TAN no. of the bank you can verify it online i.e. by visiting tin-nsdl site.
If they fail to provide the acknowledgement no. you can approach legally as already suggested .

prob does not goes with challan or tax payment, but with ETDS, where they mix up all spices in single drum, and feel hard to segregate now.
The following is the link i am providing to verify how much you have received from that particular TAN holder`. it asks you to enter the TAN No. your PAN No. , & year . so that you will know how much is credited to your account in that particular year by that Bank or TAN holder.

सवाल- मैं एक दवा कंपनी में काम करता हूं। वित्त वर्ष 2010-11 के दौरान मेरे वेतन से 24,000 की टीडीएस कटौती की गई, पर कंपनी ने इस बाबत अबतक मुझे फार्म 16 नहीं दिया है। दूसरी ओर आयकर विभाग की वेबसाइट पर पैन नंबर दाखिल करके देखने पर पता चला की मेरे पैन नंबर पर कोई टीडीएस जमा नहीं किया गया है। पिछले साल भी कंपनी ने फार्म 16 बहुत देरी से दिया था। क्या इसके खिलाफ आयकर विभाग से कोई कार्रवाई करवाई जा सकती है?
जवाब- टीडीएस प्रमाण पत्र समय से जारी (सेलरी के लिए 31 मई तक) ना करने पर 200 रुपये प्रतिदिन की पेनॉल्टी धारा 272 ए (2)(जी) में लगाई जा सकती है। यदि डिडक्टर ने टीडीएस समय से जमा नहीं कराया है, तो धारा 201 (1 ए) में डेढ़ प्रतिशत ब्याज हर महीने देना पड़ सकता है। बॉम्बे हाईकोर्ट ने कहा है कि यदि कर्मचारी का टैक्स काटा गया है और वह इसका सबूत जैसे पे स्लिप इत्यादि देता है तो उसे इनकम टैक्स विभाग टीडीएस का के्रडिट देगा तथा टैक्स उसके नियोक्ता से जमा कराएगा।
सवाल- मैं एसबीआई में क्लर्क हूं। सालाना आय 2,10,000 रुपये है। मैं आयकर बचाने के लिए क्या-क्या उपाय कर सकता हूं?
जवाब- आपकी करयोग्य आय अधिकतम करमुक्त सीमा के बाद 50,000 रुपये है, जिसपर आपको 10 फीसदी की दर से कर देना पड़ सकता है। धारा 80 सी से 80 यू के अंतर्गत उल्लिखित निवेश और खर्चों पर 50,000 रुपये की कटौती का दावा कर अपनी कर शून्य कर सकते हैं। धारा 80 सी में पीपीएफ, एलआईसी, ट्यूशन फीस, बैंक में 5 वर्ष या उससे अधिक की एफडी, ईएलएसएस आदि पर अधिकतम एक लाख रुपये तक, धारा 80 सीसीएफ में इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर बांड पर 20,000 रुपये तथा धारा 80 डी में मेडिकल इंश्योरेंस प्रीमियम पर 15,000 रुपये या वरिष्ठ नागरिक के लिए 20,000 रुपये की कटौती का दावा किया जा सकता है।
सवाल- मैं एक लेखक और पत्रकार हूं। लेखन मेरा एकमात्र व्यवसाय रहा है और मेरी आय हमेशा आयकर की निर्धारित सीमा के अंदर रही है। इधर कुछ पत्रिकाएं टीडीएस के नाम पर मेरे मानदेय में कटौती करके आय की दस फीसदी धनराशि आयकर विभाग को भेज रही हैं और मुझसे कहा जाता है कि काटी गई यह राशि मैं आयकर विभाग से वापस पा सकता हूं। रिफंड पाने के लिए मुझे क्या करना होगा, कृपया बताएं।
जवाब- आपको रिफंड पाने के लिए आयकर रिटर्न भरना होगा। इसकी ड्यू डेट 31 जुलाई है। एडवांस टैक्स तथा टीडीएस से देय कर घटाकर शेष राशि के रिफंड के लिए रिटर्न भरें।

if you claim any TDS in ITR that is not showing in 26 AS,then your ITR will not match with 26 AS then surely i notice U/s 143 (1) will be issued against assessee.
it is default of Bank.so take action against bank .........
