Income tax return

A revised income tax return has been filed for AY 1718 after noticing certain errors. The revised return was filed on 27/02/17. 

Later the assessee received notice for defective return u.s 139(9), for the original return on 09/03/17 but the date of notice on the letter is 21/02/17.

Do we need to file response to the notice...since we have already revised the return? the date of notice is earlier than the date of filing of revised return but it is received later.
