If Individual has filed Income Tax Return for FY 2010-2011 before due date but have not submitted the ITRV to CPC Bangalore, then what is to be done by the Assessee now

For that F.Y. 10-11, the ITR has been belated, and nothing can be done now....

Agree with Expert...

Belated return for F.Y 10-11

Time limit for sending ITR V is within 120 days from date of filing e return.

Nothing required to do in this case from assessee side. He will be supposed that he has not filed the return of income. In this case assessing officer can make assessment u/s 144 by giving SCN u/s 144 to the assesee before 31.03.2014. After that he can give notice u/s 148 for assessment u/s 147 upto 31.03.2018. After getting such notice assesee is required to file return of income. However nothing required to do now from assesee side. He should wait for the action of assesing officer. Further it should be noted that penalty u/s 271F may be initiated.

Shubhangi, since individual has missed his last resort viz., filing of belated return as the time limit has expired on 31.03.2013. He has no further option left at his end. However, One thing I would like to share that Income Tax Deptt. had recently been liberal to the taxpayers and extended the time limit to send ITR-V to the CPC-Bangluru for those who missed it earlier.

Now, individual is left with the situation of wait and watch. I don't think that Income Tax Deptt. would be liberal again for  the taxpayers covered in notification above. Further, I do support Chandan Kumar response too except penalty part as it can be condoned if proved that it was not deliberate and there are sufficient reason for default.

In that case, we can submite the return to the local income tax department though it will be invalid return after the time period of belated return. But this return will help you at the time of penalty proceeding and can take suomoto declaration to avoids penalty.
I agree with the views of Mr mahesh sojitra

!!!Good News!!!

The Income Tax Deptt has further extended the period to sent ITR-V to CPC Bengaluru for ITRs of AY 2011-12 & 2012-13. Kindly find the link below:

Check whether your case falls within the notification above as it is subject to the AY as well as the time when ITR is filed for a particular AY. Cheers!!
