No it is not possible to file the return for the A.Y 2009-10.
You can file A.Y 2010-11 before 31st March 2011.

In continuation to earlier post, i would also like to add that the total TDS has also been submitted by my employer to income tax department. I am a salaried employee and working in PSU. Please guide me so that I can submit the same with penality. where to submit the ITR? What are the documents needs to be submitted alongwith ITR-1? Is it possible to submit my post. My companies headquarter is in Delhi and currently I am working at their Noida office.

ya they wont accept your return if you want you can talk to the income tax officer.

as per procedure and guidlines, whether, i can submit my ITR for AY 2009-10 or not. Is there provision in the rules to accept my ITR or not? or i am fully dependent on the discretion of income tax officer.

as per IT act you can submit by paying penalty
but in practically they don't accept.....
