what is fringe benefit tax in income tax...and what's the meaning of that the employer is liable to pay fringe benefit tax or not?

Tax on various ( fringe ) benefits provided by employer to employee, which are not generally relatable to a single employee.
employee shall not pay tax on that perquisites but emplyer will pay @
30 % + Surcharge (if any )+ Cess, on value fringe benefit
Not applicable from CA exam May, 2010
