I had efiled the tax audit report showing provident fund and bonus paid before the due date in clause 26(i)(B)(a). However in processing of the tax return it is shown as disallowed and added back to the tax return. What could be the reason?

Usually, the income tax department takes minimum one month to process the ITR. However, on the new income tax portal, ITRs are being processed on the same day it is filed and verified. The government has revised the rules related to time limit for issuing intimation notice. This means the IRS has your tax return and is processing it.
