How can we cancel the income tax selfassessment challan if it is made on wrong pan number

Income TAX can be deposited either online / offline.
In case challan is beibg filled online, the moment we enter PAN the Name of the assessee is auto filled which acts as an Automatic check that the Amount is being correctly collected against tge Name of the assessee being displayed automatically.
Now in case even if the challan was submitted manually at Bank and PAN number was by mistake quoted wrongly the bank would keep your process on hold and wont proceed with.
In both the abive cases there is no question that self asst tax can be made on wrong pan number
