kindly advice if the tax is applicable on arrear amount..

One of my relative got arrears of 10 lac towards last 10 years of arrears amount.. after new pension payout he is getting 4.80 lac PA. arrear amount he got after tax deduction..

Total amount or increased pension only means 10+ old pension or 4.80 lac
