One of my friends is supposed to have filed his IT returns for AY 24-25 because his income became taxable for the first time and he had TDS that is refundable as well. Unfortunately he had nobody to guide him and the portal also has no option to file original returns for AY 24-25 now. How do we approach this issue? Should a grievance be filed?

He can send an intimation to the assesing officer stating his difficulty.In response to sec 143(1) the assesse cxn file the return

How is this intimation sent? Through the email provided, pertaining respective jurisdictional officer, in the Portal?

TDS refunds are important, so it's best to consult a CA or tax professional.

They might have a workaround or know if an updated return under Section 139(5) can be filed later.
