Income tax exemption for govt. hospital expenses
I wish to know whether amount paid for hospital charges including medicines, etc. are eligible for deduction under Chapter VI-A. If yes, under which section.
P:S: Individual is not a government employee and no medical expenses reimbursement is given by the employer.

Sec. 80D helps to some extent, specifically to senior citizen individuals/parents; otherwise no such relief.
