Singhania is the best

I feel Manoharan has explained the concepts in very simple language. Also as u had mentioned u have not taken up any classes, for u Manoharan is the only advisable book.

Since u take up the exam in nov 08, it will b better u choose Manoharan, bcoz its hard to understand singhania with in the short duration u have. All the Best

U shd go for Manoharan

Depending up on the time you have for preparation, go for Girish sanghi and Ravi Guptas book Direct Tax Laws and Practice- useful for CA, CWA,CS.

If u r running short of time, go for Manoharan-from examination point of view.

yar i suggest buy maoharan read the chapter after that solved exam question and spend atlesat 3 to 4 hrs every day for tax

As u have a very short period,u must go with Vinod Gupta sir.

u can say that there is 12 modules but in fact its only 350-400 pages.all others are duplication or otherwise useless.

my attempt is also due in nov.08 so belive me.
