1) DA (Dearness Allowance) of 25% of salary does not directly contribute to retirement benefits. Dearness Allowance is an additional component of salary provided to employees to offset the impact of inflation on their purchasing power. It is usually revised periodically based on the cost of living index. While DA increases the overall salary, retirement benefits are typically calculated based on basic salary, allowances, and other specific components, excluding DA.
2) DP (Dearness Pay) of 15% refers to the portion of the salary that is directly linked to Dearness Allowance. Dearness Pay is calculated as a percentage of the basic salary and is subject to revisions along with changes in the Dearness Allowance. It is used to determine certain allowances, such as house rent allowance, city compensatory allowance, etc. DP is added to the basic salary to calculate the total salary amount for an employee.
