Firstly you need to understand what is RTP? So RTP is just a model question paper which is issued for every attempt by ICAI (before 2 months of every attempt) based on the format of the actual question paper. Before examination, ICAI issue the RTPs of every subject on its website along with the suggested answers too.
Coming to the question, solving the RTPs after revising the entire subject shows how well you remember the overall concepts. It shows you the present state of revision just before the exams and weather you are able to apply the concepts and revision effectively on the paper or not.
However, one should solve RTP only if he/she has left with time after revision. If taken seriously, it gives you the feel of real examination plus sometimes questions can be directly asked in exams from the RTPs. In addition to these, RTPs also cover the last minute amendments which ICAI treat as a part of curriculum in the forthcoming exam. if you are able to solve the questions of RTPs, then it will boost the self confidence in you will give a positive impact on your exams but you should go for RTPs only after you are done with the complete preparation of the subject as it is only for last moment revision.
The biggest problem with RTPs is that ICAI upload the updated RTPs just couple of days before the exam. Hence it becomes difficult for a student to write and than analyse the mistakes. The solution to this is, go for MTPs (Mock test papers) which are available in the market. Don’t buy any random MTP, you’ll waste your time and money. I would recommend Prepca mock test series. They have a splendid passing record and their questions and evaluation is as per the ICAI’s norms. Their answer-wise detailed assessment report (ADAR) and Bird's eye view report are a big asset in improve your presentation skills and converting your 30s into 60s and 70s.
