We students from old syllubus were mostly following refernce books of various authors since our modules were nt updated...But most of caclub members say for new syllub modules are a must ...Does it mean we need to study afresh with modules?I ve studied Gurukripa for costing, isca i bought dinesh madan , dt sekhar, casestudies and amendments , idt vs datey...I think if i start studyn  modules everything will seeem new annd i wont be able to master the subjects..also they are coming with practise manuals , rtps etc etc...planned to go through compilations as welll...i dont feel it ill work...i wish i study te same books i was following sothat i will be thorough with wat im reading..

i am also from old scheme.... new study modules of icai are worth to to score big.... even latest edition of idt , dt , isca of respective authors are updated as well..... 8 modules & 3 months for exams.... time management matters most..... i think one should practice in known pitch, in which he has played earlier..

Continue with the Old books as before (ofcourse Latest ones), as you must be familiar with those books/authors & so you can study efficiently (considering the time factor).

& for the New Modules/Prac.Manuals, “Use it” for the selected chapters/topics which

[in case] you find it difficult to study from your old books.

For Costing: You can Practice new problems (as you would have already practiced the old ones from Padhuka Book, I assume) from Pract.Manual/RTP, as well.

according to me you should refer icai latest/updated study material  including practise manuals (jan.2011 edition) with your reference books.

hmmm if i start refering modules, practise manuals , reference books and anythng else they are planning to introduce for helping students  , my parents dreams of seeing me as a ca will remain a long distant one
