We are already having rtp, compilation, pm,sm,mock test, suggested answers. So,this test paper should not be there and even if it is there it should be discretionary and not mandatory.

i was searching for this news on internet after seeing it in Student journal, and i was seeking for clarification of this news and mailed to BOS of ICAI and they clarified that yes test will be conducted and details will be hosted on Icai.org.
my attempt is nov 17 for final exam, right now i am stuck with classes and office from morning 6 to 9.30 PM, i am even not able to study the subject that i am studing currently i.e. DT and IDT. Now how it will be possible for this type of many of my friends to prepare for the tests which are mandatory to appear in final exam, as we are fully depend on the 5 months leaves we get before exam from office for preparation of exam.

Exactly, it is very inconvenient for students. They should be aware of the kind of pattern they are setting. Already there are only few students enrolling to CA. If this is done, students will just stop enrolling.

There is no clarity yet about this scheme. According, to this particular article, it will be mandatory to appear for the test and pass in the same in order to write the final exams.

If they are doing so, then they should have to reduce the timing of article ship.. As simple as that!
This might be lead to the depression because a student who would not clear the test would not be eligible to give final exams..is it really fine to the students? It would completely become struggling to the students! They should conduct test papers but this should not have to be the pre-criteria for final examination..

That's hard to assess whether it is going to actually happen or not ! But if it is going to happen...
That's another stress-log for Articled CA Students !
Students are doing articleships that too on stringent terms in Big Firms.
(No one follows the '35- hour limit however !)
LACK OF TIME and ENERGY for self study is already an issue...
In addition you are introducing new restrictions for appearing in Exams ?
I know a teast paper can boost confidence. But why it is mandatory ? Why ? It will cause lots of inconvenience to students living in small cities, towns and villages where ICAI Branches are not opened yet/ or opened but not fully functioning !!
Hope ICAI considers this... (We, studnets, can only HOPE !!)

I agree with you that it should be only for checking preparation but should be mandatory to join test.
However eligibility should not be based on these tests.

This pattern if it is introduced it should not be for eligibility criteria for appearing in CA final exams.

Totally agreeing with this point that test papers are good for knowing the status of our studies and preparation but not a crieteria for deciding the eligibilty. Studying thoroughly in our study leave period contributes largely to our preparation and adds on to the chances of clearing exam whereas having eligibilty creiteria in between, we may not be able to do complete justice to it by devoting the required time and result in disqualification even before appearing for finals.

They shouldn't keep such schemes as this will be burdensome for all. We are already facing lack of time for self study and most of the students gets only four months leave for finals. It will be difficult for us all to prepare for such tests. This scheme will not help us in anyways it will only add to our burden.
