my friend, when my uncle passed out of IIM in 1990 he spent 8 months looking for a job, but got it once opportunities were available. The job market is going through a bad phase. Also there is a lack of good quality CA's as regards communication skills, practical knowledge(one CA in my cousin's company asked her if DEFRRED TAX should be paid NOW... he didn't know that deferred means "later" and even if he didn't he should know what defered tax means), grooming, people skills etc. A visiting professor CA in my college said that the CA's these days were all rogues. Also you need some degree of specialisation. A lot of jobs in africa and dubai ask for SAP certification or some certification in indirect/international tax. Also now being just a CA pass isn't good enough, you need to be one of the top scoring CA's WITH practical knowledge as well. I myself will be doing CIMA/international tax after CA.
