I m a ca ipcc student, how to study taxation ?

i m doing articleship.

i dont know how to study TAXATION Subject

plz help... which chapter i should study first and subcequently what after that ?

and plz help in COSTING & FM also...

plz help

I am a CA FINAL student.I AM from PCC stream.I am unaware about current taxation syallbus contents from nov 2014.(THEY have included excise ,customs also--i guess)BUT I would suggest, first study small topics like House property,salary etc.then PGBP ,SETOFF Carry forward,clubbing, Income from other sources etc. Study Capital gains in last .you can study indirect tax portion like service tax ,excise etc.simultaneously.I would suggest study from T N Manoharan Sir's book.very important thing-- revise daily .Best of luck.

For cost FM refer Ravi kirhor or P c tulsian .tulsian is little vast.More important is you understand concept,no matter how many examples you solve.Many students say they solved hundreds of examples,BUT that is not possible in limited time frame.Try to understand the logic,otherwise on the day before exam it is very diffcult even to revise.IN cost and FM try to solve independantly,then only you will able to solve.DO NOT IGNORE THEORY.IT CARRIES MUCH WEITAGE.

For Taxation get Students handbook on taxation by T.N MANOHARAN (latest 2015-16 aassement year).go through theory part and understand the concepts,Make you own notes for sections. SOLVE as many problems you can.

For Costing and F.M first complete the theory questions.You will get question of 32 marks of theory (16 cost + 16 Fm) in paper. JUST STUDY THEORY FROM PRACTISE MANUAL ONLY.Try to understand it and MUG up.It will take 10 days to complete it.Revise the theory daily for around 15 minutes

Then solve all the practical problems from Practise manual. Practise manual should be your Most imp book.
