I have forgotten my log in password for IT site incometaxefilingindia. gov.in. I did file my ITR for AY 10-11 however I dont have the acknowledgement (ITR V) emailed to me by IT authorities. There is an option of password recovery by answering the secret question the answer of which I have also forgotten. I cant register again myself since my PAN is already registered.
Guys if anyone has faced this situation please help as I need to file my ITR for this AY.

Open the mail sent to you which contained the ITR V and then from that u get the acknowledgment no and then try to reset the password.
The file can be opened by giving ur pananddate of birth all in small letters with no space.

You can send mail to validate @ incometaxindia.gov.in for reseting of your password with your Credentials. your password will be reset within 24 hours. or you can try to reset password using your secret question provided at the time of registration.

Thanks for your replies but the issue is I have lost that mail containing the ITR V and I dont remember the answer to the secret question. I know its a worst case scenario, still if someone has faced this situation please help.

Friends, I am facing the same issue as Mr. Hashmi. I've forgotten the password and am not able to recover it. The Secret answer is not working and on entering the PAN details, the website automatically sends the password to an email address which is unknown to me.
Please suggest how can I recover the password in such a case.
