So i read in other thread here, that i cant issue a debit note in GST for the good i purchased. is that true?

I made a purchase and now i want to return that purchase so i need to issue a debit note. Can i do that?

Plus do i need to show debit note in GSTR 1?

Yes, you can issue the debit note and show it in GSTR1

Yes you can issue debit not. but you cannot show this debit note in GSTR 1 bcz GSTR 1 is only for outward supply for purchase related debit not it will be filled in GSTR 2 which is not filing now.
the taxes on this debit note should be reduced from the available ITC in the respective month in GSTR 3B
