HRA Exemption

Tax queries 700 views 3 replies

Hi,

Is it mandatory to have a renewed Rent Agreement to claim the expenses towards House Rent- Or rent slip would be sufficient-

I am getting Rs.800/- as Conveyance and the same is mentioned on my Salary slip - do clarify on this if any special treatment to be given while calculating tax liability on this.

Thanks

It is not ompulsory to have Rent Agreement to claim deduction u/s 10(13A)  It may Vary in Organisation to organisation according to their memorandom & regulations . Rent Reciept is a sufficient evidence to show your employer for claiming deduction .

& in Conveyence allowance it is exempt upto Rs. 800 Per month hence it will not affact tax liability
