Hra exemption

Sir, I live in a rented house. As of now I do not require HRA relief as no tax accrues after considering 80C and 80G exemptions.Am I required to submit rent receipt to my employer now in order that I may avail HRA relief in future when there is a wage revision?

REFER TO HRA U/s 10(13a)

Tell your employer to reduce your basic salary or dearness allowance and direct that amount to House Rent Allowance.

please note HRA exempt to tax is given below

The entire HRA received is not fully exempt from tax. The least of the following three will be taken to exempt from tax:

HRA received from your employer
Actual rent paid minus 10% of salary
50% of basic salary for those living in metro cities, 40% of basic salary for those living in non-metro cities

No need to worry on rent reciept.

First compute HRA u/s 10(13A)

either have receipt or rent agreement to avoid harassment by AO during the scrutiny.
