i think u can get....
bcs the provision say about payments in respect of rent paid by u....it does not classify that where rent were paid..

Ritika, you do get the exemption of HOSTEL RENT paid. But, mind it, if you are paying any non-eligible expense under HOSTEL RENT., that would be disallowed. Like, if you pay food expenses to your tenant as a part of rent, that would be excluded...

Yes, it can be claimed for as HRA exempiton.
