The calculation were as follows Basic salary Rs.39000 + HRA Rs. 1000 Total is Rs.40000.
15 Days salary is calculated as Earned Leave i.e. Rs. 19500 + Rs. 500 (HRA) Total is Rs.20000.
So can I claim the HRA Rs.500 for exemption u/s. 10.
Query: Whether I should claim Rs.12000 as HRA or Rs.12500 as HRA u/s.10
