Iam staying in Bachelor accomadation provided by the employer in kochin.My family is staying in a rented house in chennai.
Whether I can claim HRA excemption for the rent paid to family

According to Income Tax Act, Employee is not entitled for HRA exemption if accomdation is provided to employee from its employer.......
Meanwhile you can claim deduction for Rent paid for your family under section 80GG but as regards to exemption under HRA. Unfortunately it is 100% taxable in your case......

If you were not provided with Rent Free Accomodation, you culd have claimed Deduction U/S 80GG.
