I have a query on HRA . I am a salaried employee . I have a house in my name in Mumbai where my parents live. I am in Bangalore and stay in a rented apartment . Am i eligible for HRA claim for the rent i am paying here.

Dear Bilal,
As per Section 10(13A),The 2 conditions must be fulfilled:
1.The residential accomodation occupied by the assessee should not be owned by himself.
2.Assessee should actually incurred the expenditure for rent.
If above two conditions are being satisfied then you may claim HRA in spite of having other house in your own name.

You are paying rent in bangalore for your employment whereas your home is in mumbai.
Yes, you are eligible for HRA.
