YES RENT PAID TO PARENTS CAN BE CLAIMED AS DED. EVEN PAID TO RELATIVE CAN BE CLAIMED BUT I HAVE A DOUBT ABT WHEN RENT PAID TO SPOUSE

Of course yes is spouse isnt a relative??see the defination under the act..but it should be in tune with the market rate otherwise AO may disallow it
