Hi ejaz naiyer,
U have to concentrate mainly on assessment procedures, penalty. appeals and revisions, and miscellaneous such as transfer pricing, taxation of non residents, international taxation, assessment of companies, partnership firms etc. If you are concentrating in amendments and recent case decisions from the institute's case decision book, you can clear the subject very easily. Next priority should be given to heads of income. Study Manoharan sir's text and Sekhar sir's text. That will be easy for you for clearing the paper. For studying, heads of income, Manoharan sir's book is nice, for others, sekhar sir's text is good. All the best and best of luck.............

bangar for IDT n mahoharan for DT r enough..book does not matter much but use is properly..i would not advise selective study but u should concentrate more on latest amendments/case laws..i would not recomened Vinod Gupta module coz is very voluminous n not good for revision..u may also refer datey for IDT which is shorter than bangars'..
