Hello friends,please suggest a reference book for Paper 5 Advanced Management Accounting along with Study Material and Practice Manual.The options :

1. Sanjay Aggarwal(along with videos available on Youtube) though I have heard it doesnt cover complete syllabus

2 .Padhuka : Though its recommended by many but have heard its too vast and is copy of practice manual

3. PC Tulsian : Heard good things about this author but never tried his books

4. Ravi Kishore

5. Dr. J.B. Gupta

I want to complete the subject thoroughly in 30 days (300 hrs)

Also suggest the sequence of chapters to study

Solve all the questions from the Practice Manual atleast 3 times.

You should purchase Padhuka only for reference purpose. OR techniques are very beautifully explained in it.

Let me again tell you, if you want to become a CA from ICAI, please do Practice Manual of ICAI 3 times.

Do limited questions but you should be master in past year question papers.

You need to do practice in that number of times that, once you see the question in your paper, your mind automatically starts giving answers. I mean you should not have to read and understand the question. You should say " Oh This question !!! Machine 2 is the bottleneck activity " Then only you can complete the paper.

Sequence :

1. OR : Easy topics : Assignment, Simulation, Transportation, Learning Curve.

2. OR : Big chapters : Network, LPP.

3. Cost Management : Do theory first. Then comes short and easy chapters. Refer index and start doing those chapters which have less pages. Atlast comes : Transfer Pricing and Standard Costing. Start with short questions of these two chapters and then go for the difficult questions. .

I gave group 2

AMA : Each and every question was from Practice Manual.

Each and every question was from last 4 years papers.

Paper was lengthy as always.

The secret to pass is to practice questions from practice manual 2-3 times.

ISCA : Question 1 was a little tricky. All other questions were from Practice Manual only. The wording of questions were new. I mean one had to use the brain to understand the requirement of the question.

DT : Some questions from practice manual. Some questions from amendments. Some from RTP. Some from Old and new cases. Some new questions from core concepts. A little lenghty paper this time. This was a typical DT paper of CA final level.Not at all easy.

IDT : Exempt in Nov 14.

take caclubindia Prof Dhani Khandelwal crach course at discounted price else go with Eten Leaked Videos of Sanjay Agarwal nov 2012.

Most Recommanded prof dhani khandelwal if you want to complete in 30 days.

Nice one...I quite agree. In isca 1st question was only about cloud computing...so it was amazing that such a small chapter got so much importance..Dt mera utna accha nahi gaya but costing isca and idt were excellent Dt easy tha but vast bhi tha...chote chote questiona kaafi the but still lengthy nahi tha. Dt and idt dono me amendment par zor tha which was nice.

Real Problem is ISCA and Costing theory. Guys, please suggest how to learn and retain theory topics, especially ISCA. It's a nightmare for me. As far as practical topics/subjects are concerned, I find them interesting. Please suggest. Thanks.

The only key for theory is to Learn & learn & learn. U have to do this whole exercise after every 20-25 days.. because thats enough time that will make you forget what u learnt 20 days ago.

No need of any reference books for AMA , do practice manual thoroughly and it's also too lengthy so along with solving categorize it so that at the last day of the exam only those sums need to be looked upon , other than this go with study material also institute is introducing new concepts in any of the chapters and it's brief is given in study material only and do transfer pricing, pricing decisions, very well as far as costing is concerned

HI VARUN FOR ISCA FIRST DO CHAPTER NO. 5 FROM MODULE YOU WILL UNDERSTAND WHY THIS SUBJCT IS GIVEN. THAN DO CHAPTER 2 THIS TOO FROM MODULE AND THAN DO CHAPTER 8 FROM PRACTICE MANUAL.

NOW DO CHAPTER 1 AND CHAPTER 4 FROM PRACTICE MANUAL ONLY.

NOW READ CHAPTER 3 + CHAPTER 6 TOGETHER FROM MANUAL BECAUSE BOTH CARRIES SAME TOPICS.

AT LAST DO CHAPTER 7 FROM MODULE.
