Show pension under salary, family pension and interest on FD in other sources and LTCG in capital gains section. Int income to be shown as primary holder's income. Pay self assessment tax even if TDS is not deducted. No need to pay advance tax as your mom is senior citizen and she has no income from profession/business. Hope this is clear

Wow. That is great answer. But mam there is no authenticity of figure of pension n family pension except pass book details. No form 16 a issued by bank. Secondly how to get benefit of rs 15000 on account of family pension.

Banks usually give pension certificate. Approach them for it. But if pass book entries are there that should suffice I think. Show deduction of family pension as deduction u/s 57

Thanks a lot. Now I will try to fill up itr 2. Hope you will further guide me.
don't require
What is not required Sir?

you need to use itr1 & not itr2. just detuct 15000 from the total pension drawn and you can file ITR1.

Hi Vinayak,

I too have a related question.

I am a retired person, getting Rs.1933/ pm as pension under EPS 95 scheme, from 'Employees Provident Fund Organisation'.  I have other income from bank interest/rental and I need to file return.

I realise from above posts that it is taxable and needs to be shown as salary.  Am I right?

You mentioned that Rs.15,000/- can be deducted from the pension amount.  Can u pls confirm under which section this deduction comes?

If it is to be shown as salary income, what needs to be entered for employer details in ITR form.(It asks for employer's name, address, pan no. etc.  what is to be filled for this?)

What needs to be shown in Employer category?   Since I am retired I have been entering OTH for this.  Will this still be same?

Request u to pls reply with yours answers to my above queries at your earliest convenience.

Thanks

@ Murthy sir. I have the same question. What did you do? I don't see a response here!
