How to get dvat registration cancelled.

I have a retail shop in Delhi. I had got voluntary registration for DVAT and Central Exise done. But then I found out that traders with annual sales less than 10 lacs are not required to register themselves. As my annual sales is much less than 10 lacs, I would now like to get my registration cancelled.

kindly let me know the proper procedure and the form required and the other papers required for this.

As mien is small shop I do not have a CA.

Please guide.

Ms Suchitra,

You should have thought of this problem in advance. Now,the posiiton is : Once you are registered you should pay tax on your sales,even if it is below the taxable minimum.,at least for 12 months more. When your sales does not improve till then you can file an application before the registering officer to cancel your registration. .......mjk

DEAR SUCHITRA,

You have to cancel the registration in DVAT 09 Form after the ending of tax period in which RC will be surrendered.
However you have to file final return relevant to last tax period before surrender.

Ex. If you fall with in quarterly tax period and have to surrender the RC between "JAN-MAR,2013" then you have to file first dvat return for such tax period and than apply for the surrender.

thanks Mr. Krishnamurthy and Mr. Gupta

I am having the VAT number for past two years and I am filing the sales tax return quarterly. even though with poor sales I am paying the VAT.

Now that Citeria has been increased to 20 lakhs and that the last quarter is about to finish that means as soon as I file the Vat return for the last quarter, I will have to fill DVAT 9 and submit it with original RC. All this will happen in April 2013.

As I am also registered under Central Exise...where adn which form to fill for this.
