How to file RTI against our institute/university?

I want to file an RTI against IGNOU. I am doing the damned B.Com(a&f) from it and assignment of one subject EEG-4 is pending and i want to give the exam in June 2010. For that i will have to submit its assignment by March 31, 2010. But the assignment given on www.ignou.ac.in is of academic year 2008-09 while we have to submit latest assignment because they lapse yearly.

a)What is the complete procedure of filing RTI?

b)Is it true that we have to submit RTI form to that "part of organisation looking after RTI" of the organisation against whom we wanna file RTI? Isn't it that there is a separate govt. body/ office in our cities where we submit the RTI form and they order the respective organisation to deliver info for us?

c) Where should we submit RTI form?

d) what is the fees for RTI application?

Lodge your complaint here. There are no fees for the same. Once you are about to get the info, you may have to pay xerox charges. Nothing apart from that. Keep a scanned copy of your relevant documents ready for uploading.

U can file RTI in any Govt. Dept.

If u don't know where to file RTI for a relevant dept., then u can file RTI in any dept. and the said dept. will handover ur RTI to the relevant Govt. Dept. within 5 days as per provisions of RTI Act.

As for the procedure for filing RTI, Just on a simple sheet of paper, write subject as "application under the RTI ACt, 2005" and write in simple words and in short, giving ur references as applicable, the relevant facts and the things u want to know. the info will be delivered to u in 30 days.....

In case u feel problem dealing with any dept.,do file RTI to know the info that u hve right to know...........

Again, if u don't know the relevant RTI office, deposite it to any other govt. dept. nearby u. May be post office, or "ANY" dept. whether related to the relevant dept or not. and they shall tranfer it to the relevant dept. within 5 days. In case they deny to accept the same, ask them to give their denial in written, as they can't deny ur application.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
