How to change address in iec across jurisdictions?

Hi,

I have an IEC for a service export proprietor business in Coimbatore. I will be shifting my business to Chennai, which is under a different DGFT jurisdiction.

When I enquired, I was told that since I got my IEC at Coimbatore, my file will always stay in Coimbatore, and that I must apply for any modification in Coimbatore only. Is there a facility to shift my file from Coimbatore jurisdiction to Chennai jurisdiction? I don't want to keep going to Coimbatore to make any modifications.

Should I cancel the IEC in Coimbatore and apply for a new one in Chennai? Any guidance will be aprreciated.

Regards,

Deepak

Yes the Department is Right Actually Dgft Offices(Coimbtor)  occurs in District of Tamilnadu, coimbtour, nilgiries,Periyar, Salem, Karur and Namakka.

hence you must submit the Modification of IEC code Application (ANF-2A) alongwith 200/- D/D , original IEC & required documents in the office of JDGFT, 1544,INDIA LIFE BUILDING,(ANNEX- FIRST FLOOR)TIRCHY, COIMBATORE.
