Hello.

I am new user and this is my first post.

I count myself very lucky that i found this community. I am also studying C.A.  I hope that i will  have good friends here.

In my first post, i request you people to share

  1. How many hours a day your level of course requires. I mean how many hours you should be studying
  2. How many hours per day you study  or (if you have completed CA) how many hours you used to study.
  3. What is the maximum number hours you ever studied in a day.

Hi Umar...

There is no  standard fixed timings to be studied as such... It varies from one person to another... some can study 15 hrs... but I can study maximum 9 to 10 hrs... dat's al... and moreover how many hrs u study and how much u study is not important... How much u understood out of what u studied is more imp... Study according to ur physical and mental capacity... But I feel atleast 8 hrs of study with full concentration is a must...

Hi Umar, Welcome to CCI and you'll surely make good friends out here!! :) Regarding your study timings, I would say, to prepare for CA exams you need to be both physically and mentally devoted. In the sense that any health issue may take over you, so have a nutritional diet , work out for atleast an hour and have good sound sleep. Students mostly tend to neglect the above issues and undoubtedly to study with full concentration and to understand the concepts clearly and thoroughly is what will take you through CA exams. No of hours if needed to quantify 8 hrs of defined and objective studies is required but to state the fact it depends a lot on individual style of studying and preparation but considering the vast syllabus atleast 8 hrs/day will be the recommendation on a regular basis. But few very important things, take small breaks in between that will keep up your spirits watch 10mins of movie/video or anything that you really like may be motivational but something which does not distract you. Like i used to watch Harry potter in between and used to be fresh after 10mins break. Or at times go for a small nap like 15-20mins just close your eyes and relax, this brings in lot of concentration. These re tried and tested methods and used to work wonders for me.. you need to find yours though, the above methods might not be your style of working ... so find out what keeps your spirits up while studying and practice it and you'll see wonderful results. All the Best and Hope my words could do some good!!
